NorthVote705 is an independent, non-partisan political intelligence platform dedicated exclusively to Northeastern Ontario. By combining local polling aggregation, demographic profiling, and statistical modeling, NorthVote705 delivers transparent, data-driven seat projections across the 705 area code.
Our Mission
Statewide and national polling models often treat Northern Ontario as a monolith, overlooking the unique economic, geographic, and demographic dynamics of the region. NorthVote705 was founded to fill this intelligence gap. We provide residents, journalists, analysts, and campaigns with hyper-local insight into where Northeastern Ontario actually stands politically.

- Hyper-Local Seat Modeling: We run projection models for every federal and provincial riding in Northeastern Ontario, updated continuously as new polling and demographic data becomes available.
- Polling Aggregation: We aggregate publicly available polling data, weighting results by sample size, recency, and historical pollster performance in Northern ridings.
- Demographic Context: We incorporate regional Census data—including resource industry employment, Francophone populations, Indigenous communities, and urban-rural splits—to understand underlying voter behavior.

NorthVote705 is completely independent. We are not affiliated with, funded by, or aligned with any political party, candidate, or advocacy organization. Our sole focus is electoral data accuracy.
2. Radical Transparency
Data without context leads to misinformation. We publish our statistical methodology, detail the raw polling sources behind our numbers, and maintain an open Corrections Policy to ensure full accountability.
3. Northern Centricity
Northern Ontario’s political landscape is distinct from Southern Ontario and the GTA. Our models are built ground-up to reflect local industry trends, riding geography, and historical regional voting patterns.

- Our full methodology — every formula, every weighting, every assumption — is published on our Methodology page, not hidden behind the numbers.
- Sponsors and advertisers have no influence over our data, our weighting, or our analysis. Sponsored content is always clearly labelled as sponsored.

Who’s behind NorthVote705
NorthVote705 is a project of Azilda Technology Company, founded and led by Joey Methé, who handles the platform’s data analysis, design, and editorial direction.
We’re growing a small team of volunteer contributors — writers, riding correspondents, and data researchers — from across the region. As NorthVote705 grows, we intend to bring on paid staff to keep expanding what we cover.
